Bad weather forces cancellation of President Draupadi Murmu's Jalandhar visit, NIT convocation affected

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): The visit of Indian President Draupadi Murmu to Jalandhar, scheduled for today, has been abruptly cancelled. According to information received from Rashtrapati Bhavan and the administration, this decision was taken due to bad weather and low visibility. The President was scheduled to attend a major event in the city today, but due to unfavorable weather for air travel, her visit has been postponed for security reasons. This news created panic among the district administration and event organizers, as all preparations for the welcome had been completed.
NIT students were to be honored
President Draupadi Murmu was scheduled to attend the 21st convocation of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) as the chief guest. She was to personally confer degrees and gold medals to meritorious students. The institute's students and faculty were excited about the president's arrival, but the inclement weather dampened their enthusiasm. Now, the formalities of the event are likely to be completed in the president's absence.
The preparations of the administration remained in vain
The Jalandhar district administration and police had been working day and night for the past several days to prepare for this VVIP visit. For security reasons, the entire city was turned into a cantonment, with police deployed at every corner. Traffic routes were diverted for the general public, and Jalandhar was declared a "no-fly zone" for three days. Drones and private aircraft were completely banned. However, the last-minute cancellation of the visit thwarted all the administration's preparations.
