Kolkata (The Uttam Hindu): West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee will contest the assembly elections from Bhawanipur. During a press conference on Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee released the list of all 294 candidates for the assembly elections. The list released by the TMC includes the names of several prominent TMC leaders from West Bengal, including Mamata Banerjee, who have been nominated.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will contest from the Bhawanipur assembly seat against BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. Meanwhile, Pavitra Kar, who recently joined the TMC, has been given a ticket from Nandigram, where he will also face Suvendu Adhikari. The BJP has given Suvendu Adhikari tickets from both Nandigram and Bhawanipur assembly seats.

Along with this, Sabina Yasmin will contest from Sujapur seat, Zakir Hussain from Jangipur seat, Byron Biswas from Sagardighi seat, Udayan Guha from Dinhata seat. At the same time, Gautam Dev has entered the electoral fray from Siliguri seat. Ashish Marjit will contest from Khagram seat. Soham Chakraborty will contest from Karimpur seat. Apurba Sarkar will contest from Kandi seat. Sangeeta Roy Basunia will contest from Sitai seat. Abhinav Bhattacharya will contest from Krishnanagar North seat. Pundrikaksha Saha will contest from Navadwip seat.

Meanwhile, Rajiv Vishwas will contest from Haringhata seat. Bina Mandal will contest from Swarupnagar seat. Sapna Barman will contest from Rajganj seat. Jyotipriya Mallick will contest from Habra seat. Ujjwal Vishwas will contest from Krishnanagar South seat. Saugata Kumar Barman will contest from Ranaghat South seat. Atindranath Mandal will contest from Kalyani seat. Earlier, on Monday, BJP had released the first list of 144 candidates, which included the names of many big leaders including Suvendu Adhikari. At the same time, the Left parties had also released their list.

The West Bengal Assembly elections will be held in two phases, with the first phase taking place on April 23 and the second phase on April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 4.
