Jammu (The Uttam Hindu): In a major development in the 1990 Srinagar Air Force personnel killing case, two key eyewitnesses identified terrorist and prime accused Yasin Malik along with three others—Javed Mir, Nanga Ji, and Shaukat Bakshi before the TADA court in Jammu on Saturday.

All four accused appeared before the TADA court, with Yasin Malik joining the hearing through video conferencing from Tihar Jail. During the cross-examination, both crucial witnesses, one of them an Air Force staffer and the other an eyewitness clearly stated that Yasin Malik had opened fire during the attack. They identified him as the main shooter and confirmed that he started the firing.

The attack had resulted in the martyrdom of four Air Force personnel and left 22 others injured. Among those killed was Air Force officer Ravi Khanna. The witnesses remained firm on the statements they had given earlier.

What Was the Case?

On 25 January 1990, a deadly attack was carried out on Air Force personnel in the Rawalpora area of Srinagar. Yasin Malik and other terrorists were accused of jointly executing the ambush.
