Patna (The Uttam Hindu): A historic political development is unfolding in Bihar as Nitish Kumar is set to resign from his post after serving as Chief Minister for nearly two decades. He will attend his government’s final cabinet meeting at 11 AM and is expected to submit his resignation at Lok Bhavan soon after.

Following his resignation, the focus will shift to the selection of the next Chief Minister. A meeting of the BJP legislative party will be held in the afternoon, where a new leader will be chosen. The elected leader will become the next CM of the NDA government in Bihar.

Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi confirmed that central observer Shivraj Singh Chouhan will arrive in Patna to oversee the process. The BJP legislature party meeting is scheduled for 3 PM, followed by a joint NDA legislature meeting at 4 PM in the Assembly’s Central Hall to finalize the candidate.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan will reach Patna around 11 AM and head to the state guest house before attending key meetings at the BJP office. After the BJP elects its leader, MLAs from alliance partners—including JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and Hindustani Awam Morcha—will gather at the Chief Minister’s residence for the NDA meeting, where the final decision on the next CM will be sealed.

This transition marks a significant political turning point in Bihar, ending a long tenure and paving the way for new leadership under the NDA.
