NDA sweeps Bihar Rajya Sabha polls, all five candidates including Nitish Kumar win
NDA achieved a clean sweep in Bihar Rajya Sabha elections, with all five of its candidates winning the seats.

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): All five NDA candidates have won the Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar. Following the vote count on Monday evening, NDA candidates Nitish Kumar, Nitin Naveen, Upendra Kushwaha, Ramnath Thakur, and Shivesh Ram were declared victorious.
It was reported that Shivesh Kumar, the NDA's fifth candidate, won based on second preference, but received the most votes. The RJD had fielded Amarendra Dhari Singh on behalf of the Grand Alliance, which led to a dispute over the fifth seat.
The Rajya Sabha elections are set to bring significant changes to Bihar politics. Nitish Kumar's entry into the upper house will force him to resign as Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, after the victory, JDU National Executive President Sanjay Jha congratulated all the candidates and said that this was already decided. We fought the previous assembly elections together in unity, and today the results of this election are in front of everyone.
Meanwhile, the opposition has accused the ruling party of horse-trading. It was reported that 41 votes were required to win a seat in this election, but four MLAs from the Grand Alliance abstained. These included three Congress MLAs and one from the RJD. This absence completely altered the electoral mathematics.
All 202 MLAs of NDA cast their votes, while four MLAs of the opposition Grand Alliance did not vote. The result of the Rajya Sabha elections is being considered a big political setback for the Grand Alliance. However, in this election the Grand Alliance got the support of five MLAs of AIMIM. Actually, the Rajya Sabha members from Bihar whose term is ending in April are Amarendra Dhari Singh, Premchand Gupta, Ramnath Thakur, Upendra Kushwaha and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh.
