Bihar Polls: NDA heads for comfortable majority, maintains lead in 135 constituencies

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Counting of votes is underway for 243 seats of Bihar Assembly. Counting has been going on since 8 am. Meanwhile, NDA seems to be forming the government in Bihar once again. Currently, in the initial trends, NDA has taken the lead on 135 seats. According to the trends, NDA has crossed the magic figure of 122 seats for majority. Whereas the Grand Alliance is leading on 65 seats. Prashant Kishore's party Jansuraj is also seen leading on 2 seats in the trends. Others including independents are leading on 5 seats.

The election results will also be declared by this evening. 46 counting centers have been set up in 38 districts for counting. By 12 noon, the seats of 2,616 candidates will be almost decided. This includes 29 ministers of Nitish government and 15 strongmen including Anant Singh.
It's worth noting that the Bihar Assembly elections were held in two phases. The first phase of voting took place on November 6th, and the second phase on November 11th. The voter turnout in both phases was 67.13%, the highest since 1951. Overall, the people of Bihar voted overwhelmingly.
