BJP announces second list: Folk singer Maithili Thakur to contest from this constituency

Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Political activity has intensified in Bihar regarding the assembly elections. Political parties have intensified their preparations. Lists of candidates are being released by the parties. In this sequence, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its second list of candidates, which includes the name of folk singer Maithili Thakur.
A day earlier, renowned folk singer Maithili Thakur had joined the BJP, and on the following day, Wednesday, the BJP fielded her from the Alinagar assembly constituency. The party's second list announced the names of 12 candidates. According to the BJP's second list, Maithili Thakur has been nominated from Alinagar, Ram Chandra Prasad from Hayaghat, Ranjan Kumar from Muzaffarpur, and Subhash Singh from Gopalganj. Kedar Nath Singh from Baniapur, Chhoti Kumari from Chhapra, Vinay Kumar Singh from Sonpur, and Birendra Kumar from Rosera are in the fray. Dr. Siyaram Singh from the Barh assembly constituency, Mahesh Paswan from Agiaon, Rakesh Ojha from Shahpur, and retired IPS officer Anand Mishra from Buxar have been nominated.
A day earlier, the BJP released its first list of 71 candidates. This list includes both deputy chief ministers and former deputy chief ministers, along with several Bihar ministers. The party stated that the list includes Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Sinha, Tarkishore Prasad, Renu Devi, Prem Kumar, Mangal Pandey, Krishna Kumar, Ram Narayan Mandal, and Nitin Nabin. The BJP stated that while Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will contest from the Tarapur assembly constituency, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha will be the BJP candidate from Lakhisarai. Former Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad has been nominated as the BJP candidate from Katihar. The party has also given tickets to several ministers and MLAs from their traditional assembly seats, while some new faces have also emerged.
