Bilaspur (The Uttam Hindu): Security agencies went on high alert after a bomb threat email was received at the Chhattisgarh High Court on Wednesday, continuing a series of similar threats targeting courts and government premises in the state.

Following the threat, police and security personnel immediately swung into action. As a precautionary measure, the entire court complex was evacuated and security arrangements were intensified. Senior police officials, including SSP Rajneesh Singh, reached the spot with a police team to review the situation.

All entry and exit points to the High Court premises were sealed while a detailed search operation was carried out. However, no suspicious object was found during the inspection.

Police teams are closely monitoring movement in and around the complex, and only verified individuals are being allowed to enter. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads have been deployed to check for any suspicious items or activities.

Officials said the cyber cell has begun an investigation to trace the origin of the threatening email. Technical teams are examining servers, IP addresses and other digital evidence to identify those responsible.

Authorities noted that similar threat messages have been received in the past, but most were later found to be hoaxes. Even so, security has been strengthened and officials are maintaining close coordination with members of the legal fraternity to ensure smooth functioning of the court.

Police have warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading false threats and rumours. Citizens have been advised not to panic or pay attention to unverified information.

The court complex is considered a sensitive location, and similar threatening emails have been reported at various High Courts and district courts across the country in recent months. Security agencies remain on alert as investigations continue.
