BSF Jawan Goes Missing from Srinagar Camp, Massive Search Operation Launched

Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): A big news has come from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, where a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier has gone missing under mysterious circumstances from the camp located at Panthachowk. After this incident, there has been a stir among the security forces and the local administration. When no trace of the soldier was found, a missing report has been filed in the local police station.
According to the information, Jawan Sugam Chaudhary posted in the 60th battalion of BSF suddenly disappeared from his battalion headquarters, Panthachowk, late night on 31 July 2025. As soon as the news of the missing jawan was received, the BSF immediately launched a massive search operation in the surrounding areas, but till now no trace of him has been found.
After this incident, the BSF unit has lodged a missing report of the jawan at the Panthachowk police station. The police and BSF are now jointly investigating the case and all possible efforts are being made to trace the jawan.
This is not the first time that a case of disappearance of a soldier from Jammu and Kashmir has come to light. In December 2023, a BSF jawan disappeared on the way while returning from duty. Earlier in May 2024, an incident of disappearance of a BSF ASI came to light in Jammu.
