High-speed Scorpio causes deadly crash, 5 killed, several hurt
Speeding Scorpio loses control causing a major accident, leaving five dead and four seriously injured.
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh claimed five lives and left four others seriously injured late Wednesday night. The incident took place around 3 am near the bus stand in the Thatipur area, close to a Jain temple.
According to police, the driver of a speeding Scorpio first collided with another vehicle near the bus stand. After losing control, the vehicle rammed into an auto rickshaw near the Jain temple, leading to a devastating crash.
Five people lost their lives in the accident, while four others including children sustained serious injuries. The injured were rushed to a trauma center where they are currently undergoing treatment.
The impact of the collision was severe, with four victims dying on the spot and one succumbing during treatment. Police have taken the Scorpio driver into custody and initiated a medical examination. Initial findings suggest overspeeding and reckless driving as the main causes, and further investigation is underway.
