New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- Regarding the Maharashtra assembly elections, the Election Commission believes that there is no discrepancy in the voter list. Rather, the process of preparing it is one of the most rigorous and transparent processes in the world. It is prepared with the cooperation of all political parties. There is a provision for claims, objections and appeals on any kind of discrepancy. The country's Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said these things while addressing the international conference organized in Stockholm (Sweden) on electoral credibility. Election management institutes from about fifty countries around the world have participated in the conference.

In the conference, all the countries had to share the steps to be taken to strengthen the electoral credibility. Speaking as the first speaker in the conference, Kumar explained in detail about the process adopted before the election in India. In which he introduced the system related to preparing the voter list in the presence of political parties, checking the EVMs and giving voting information to the political parties after the voting. He also told that more than two crore employees work with him in this entire process. During this, a fixed rule procedure has been made for every work. Addressing the election management bodies of the world, he told that 743 political parties participated in the 2024 elections. These included six national parties along with 67 state level parties and other registered parties. At the same time, 62 lakh electronic voting machines (EVMs) have been used in them. A total of 20271 candidates were in the fray in the election.
