New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Continuous action is being taken against Jamaluddin alias Changur Baba, accused of forced conversion. Changur Baba's luxurious house has been razed to the ground with a bulldozer. Now according to police sources, it has been learned that the investigating agency suspects foreign funding of more than Rs 500 crore to Jamaluddin for illegal conversion in UP.

The Anti Terror Squad has made a sensational disclosure on Friday. The ATS said that Jalaluddin alias Changur Baba received foreign funds worth about Rs 500 crore in the last three years. Out of this, Rs 200 crore reached India through official banking channels, while Rs 300 crore was brought to India from Nepal through illegal hawala channels. This money came from Muslim countries. This money was sent to Changur Baba with the intention of conversion in India. The ATS investigation has revealed that more than 100 bank accounts were opened in border districts of Nepal like Kathmandu, Nawalparasi, Rupandehi and Banke, in which money was deposited. These funds came from Muslim-majority countries like Pakistan, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Money from these accounts was sent to India through local agents in Nepal. The agents used to take 4-5% commission in return. Many times money was deposited through cash deposit machines. After coming to India from Nepal, the funds were converted into Indian rupees through local money exchangers in districts like Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur. Agents from Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Purnia, Kishanganj, Champaran and Supaul districts of Bihar have also been found involved in this illegal funding network.

According to ATS, the maximum foreign funding reached Ayodhya district, where Hindu girls were allegedly converted. Investigation of 40 bank accounts linked to Changur Baba and his associates has begun. During the investigation, it has been confirmed that 34.22 crores were found in six bank accounts of Naveen Rohra and 13.90 crores in Nasreen's accounts. ATS has also sought income tax records of the last 10 years. It is also suspected that Changur Baba may also have bank accounts in Dubai, Sharjah or UAE, which are being investigated. Changur Baba's bungalow in Balrampur, built at a cost of 5 crores, has been completely demolished. This bungalow was built illegally on government land.
