Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a major initiative for senior citizens under the Saat Nishchay-3 programme. Under the seventh resolution, “Sabka Samman–Jeevan Aasaan” (Ease of Living), elderly people in the state will now receive essential healthcare services at home, reducing the need for frequent hospital visits. The Chief Minister shared this information on Saturday.

In a post on social media platform X, Nitish Kumar said that since the formation of his government on November 24, 2005, development with justice has remained the guiding principle. He stated that the government has worked for the upliftment of all sections of society and considers the entire state as one family, ensuring dignity and respect for every citizen. He added that serious efforts are now underway to make life easier and more dignified for people across all sections of society.

The Chief Minister said that Saat Nishchay-3 has been implemented for the period 2025 to 2030 with the aim of placing Bihar among the most developed states in the country. The seventh resolution of the programme focuses on reducing daily difficulties faced by citizens and improving their overall quality of life.

He explained that the first priority is to ensure that needy senior citizens receive essential medical services at their homes whenever required. As part of this initiative, home-based nursing care will be provided. Diagnostic services such as blood tests will also be conducted at home. Important health check-ups including blood pressure monitoring and ECG tests will be made available at the doorstep. Physiotherapy services will also be provided at home, and in emergency situations, immediate medical assistance will be ensured.

Nitish Kumar further stated that the Health Department has been instructed to work swiftly so that all these healthcare facilities can be made available to senior citizens at home. He also said that additional facilities that could further improve the lives of elderly citizens should be identified. The Chief Minister invited people to share their valuable suggestions through the designated channels to strengthen the initiative.
