Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): A major security-related incident has been reported from Srinagar, where a heavy Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) vehicle lost control and met with an accident. Around nine CRPF personnel travelling in the vehicle were injured. Soon after the incident, rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted all injured personnel to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Vehicle lost control on Dagpora road

According to preliminary reports, the accident took place in the Dagpora area of Ahmednagar. The armoured CRPF vehicle was moving along the Ahmednagar–Dagpora road during routine deployment when the driver reportedly lost control. Due to the vehicle’s heavy bulletproof structure, it skidded off the road and fell into a canal below the embankment.

Rescue operation launched immediately

The incident created panic in the area, and locals gathered at the scene. Police and CRPF teams quickly reached the spot and launched a rescue operation with the help of residents. After considerable effort, all injured personnel were safely pulled out and taken to hospital.

Doctors are currently treating the injured soldiers, while authorities have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
