Dharamshala (The Uttam Hindu): Amid ongoing discussions regarding the documents of notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein released by the US Justice Department, the office of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has issued a major statement. Social media and some reports claimed that the Dalai Lama's name was included in these controversial files. His office in Dharamshala strongly objected to this and clarified that the Dalai Lama never had any connection with American sex offender and human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

The Dalai Lama's office called the reports misleading.

A press statement issued by the office in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, described these reports as completely misleading and without facts. The statement officially confirmed that His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has never met Jeffrey Epstein, nor has he ever permitted anyone on his behalf to meet or speak with him. The office expressed concern that recent media reports and social media posts are falsely attempting to link the Dalai Lama to Epstein, which bears no resemblance to reality.

Claims were made to be named in the documents

It is noteworthy that the US government is releasing millions of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein and his network. These files include emails, photographs, notes, and other records. Recently, some reports made the sensational claim that the Dalai Lama was mentioned more than 100 times in these documents. These claims sparked a debate on social media, prompting the Dalai Lama's office to clarify the situation and vehemently deny all allegations.

The names of veterans like Trump and Clinton have also come up.

Jeffrey Epstein was a high-profile American financier with deep connections to prominent politicians and celebrities around the world. He frequently hosted parties attended by numerous celebrities. Reports so far have revealed prominent figures such as scientist Stephen Hawking, former US Presidents Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and Michael Jackson. Epstein was arrested in 2019 on charges of sex trafficking, after which he committed suicide in police custody.
