Deadly Crash in Jharkhands Deoghar: 18 Killed, 20 Injured in Bus-Truck Collision

Deoghar (Jharkhand) (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident took place in Deoghar district on Tuesday morning, in which 18 devotees died while more than 20 devotees were injured. The accident took place at around 5:30 am near Jamunia turn in Mohanpur police station area on Godda-Deoghar main road, when a bus and a truck collided. On receiving the information, Mohanpur police station in-charge Priyaranjan reached the spot with the police team and started relief and rescue work. With the help of local people, the injured were taken to Mohanpur Community Health Center (CHC) through ambulance.


Tragic accident: A bus full of pilgrims collided with a truck in Deoghar, Jharkhand, 18 dead, 20 injured : According to eyewitnesses, the collision was so severe that the bus was shattered into pieces. After the accident, there was an outcry at the spot and there was chaos among the devotees. Local BJP MP Nishikant Dubey expressed deep condolences over the accident. He said, "The death of devotees doing Kanwar Yatra during the month of Shravan in my Lok Sabha constituency Deoghar in a painful road accident is extremely sad. May Baba Baidyanath give strength to their families to bear this grief."


It is worth noting that in the month of Shravan, lakhs of devotees from all over the country come to Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar to offer Ganga water. This place is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and is also called the abode of the gods. The police is investigating the cause of the accident. The treatment of the injured is going on and the condition of some is said to be critical. The administration has said that it will provide assistance to the families of the deceased.
