Deadly Ritual: Karnataka Woman Killed During ‘Exorcism’ by Own Son

Karnataka (The Uttam Hindu) : A 45-year-old woman, Geethamma, tragically lost her life in Jambaraghatta village of Bhadravati taluk after being subjected to a brutal assault during a so-called exorcism ritual. The incident occurred in Karnataka’s Shimoga district and has led to the arrest of two individuals.

According to police reports, Geethamma’s son, Sanjay, believed his mother was possessed by an evil spirit. Seeking help, he took her to a woman named Asha, who claimed to have supernatural powers and offered to perform a ritual to "drive out" the spirit.

During the ritual, Asha allegedly beat Geethamma continuously for nearly six hours. The sustained assault proved fatal, and Geethamma succumbed to her injuries. The Holehonnur police have arrested both Asha and Sanjay. A case of murder has been registered against them, and further investigation is underway.
