New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On the death anniversary of Padma Vibhushan awardee and former ISRO Chairman Prof Satish Kumar Dhawan, senior BJP leaders including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari paid respectful tributes to the eminent scientist who played a key role in taking India’s space programme to new heights.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari paid homage on social media platform X, writing that he offered his humble respects to the great scientist Prof Satish Dhawan on his death anniversary.

Union Minister Manohar Lal said that Prof Dhawan, a distinguished rocket scientist and former ISRO Chairman, gave a new direction to India’s space programme. He stated that Prof Dhawan’s invaluable service to the nation through science will always be remembered.

Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana also paid tribute on X, remembering Prof Dhawan’s immense contribution in elevating India’s space programme and calling it unforgettable.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya described Prof Dhawan as a visionary scientist whose leadership provided a strong scientific foundation and institutional strength to India’s space programme. He said Prof Dhawan’s contribution will remain etched in the nation’s memory.

Another Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Brajesh Pathak, paid his respects and saluted Prof Dhawan as a great rocket scientist, former ISRO Chairman, and Padma Vibhushan awardee.

Uttar Pradesh BJP President Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary also bowed in respect to Prof Dhawan, calling him a renowned rocket scientist and a key figure in India’s space journey.

Cabinet Minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, Dr Sanjay Kumar Nishad, said that Prof Dhawan’s role in shaping scientific research, nuclear energy, and the space sector gave a new direction to nation-building. He described Prof Dhawan’s life as an inspiring example of knowledge, dedication, and service to the nation.
