New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The terrorist driving the car in the Delhi blast case has been identified. Delhi Police sources said that DNA analysis of samples collected from the Red Fort blast site has confirmed that Umar Un Nabi was driving the car in which the explosion took place.

According to police sources, DNA samples from Umar Nabi's mother and brother were collected and sent to the AIIMS forensic laboratory, where they were matched with the remains of the bodies kept at Delhi's Lok Nayak Hospital. A piece of his leg was found near the steering wheel of the I-20 car that was recovered after the blast. Investigating officials later matched it with Umar's DNA. The DNA test confirmed that the person who carried out the blast near the Red Fort was Umar Nabi.

Another revelation has emerged in this case. According to Delhi Police sources, Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Adeel, and Shaheen, the Red Fort blast accused, collected approximately 2 million rupees, which were handed over to Umar. There was also a dispute between Umar and Muzammil over the money.

They later purchased several quintals of NPK fertilizer worth approximately ₹3 lakh from Gurugram, Nuh, and surrounding areas in Haryana, which was used to make the IEDs. Sources also revealed that Umar created the Signal app for the two to four members in this group.

Police sources said that terrorist Umar visited a mosque before detonating the bomb near the Red Fort. He stayed there for more than 10 minutes, after which he headed towards the Red Fort. Around 7 pm on November 10, Umar blew up the entire vehicle, including himself.

The blast occurred during heavy traffic. Consequently, the explosion in Omar's vehicle engulfed several nearby vehicles. The death toll in this terrorist attack has now risen to 12.
