Delhi to Gurugram in Just 15 Minutes: Nitin Gadkari Announces Underground Tunnel Road

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The central government has announced an ambitious plan to get rid of traffic jams, one of the biggest problems of Delhi-NCR. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that the government is working on a plan to build a tunnel road from Delhi to Gurugram, which will reduce the one-hour journey to just 15 minutes.
The tunnel will start from Talkatora Stadium
Nitin Gadkari said that this proposed tunnel will start from Talkatora Stadium in Delhi and go directly to Gurugram. He said that a lot of time is wasted by the passengers in travelling from Delhi to Gurugram, and this tunnel will be a permanent solution to this problem. The main objective of this scheme is to reduce the time taken in travelling as well as to reduce the traffic pressure on the busy route of Delhi-Gurugram.
Study on the plan started, work expected soon
Giving information on the status of this much-awaited scheme, Gadkari said that a study has been started on it and work on it can start soon. He also informed that the Transport Ministry has a budget of Rs 30 to 40 thousand crores for Delhi, which will be used for such projects. The government hopes that this project will also help in reducing air pollution in Delhi.
