New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In Hindu belief, Saturday is considered especially important for the worship, fasting, and charity associated with Lord Shani. It is believed that donating the right items on this day brings Shani Dev’s blessings, but donating certain things is considered prohibited. According to astrological beliefs, giving these items on Saturday can lead to negative outcomes instead of positive results.

Items that should not be donated on Saturday:

White items

The color white is associated with the Moon, while the Moon and Saturn are considered opposing planets. Therefore, donating white clothes, rice, milk, or milk-based products on Saturday is discouraged.

Red items

Red is linked with the Sun, and in astrology, the Sun and Saturn are regarded as enemy planets. Hence, donating red clothes, red fruits, or any red-colored items on Saturday is considered inauspicious.

Yellow items

Yellow is associated with Jupiter. Scriptures describe Saturn and Jupiter as rival planets, so donating gold, brass, wheat, turmeric, or yellow clothes on Saturday should be avoided.

Plastic and glass items

According to belief, plastic and glass are connected with Lord Shani. Donating these items on Saturday is therefore considered unfavorable.

Salt

Donating salt on Saturday is believed to displease Shani Dev, which may lead to financial and mental difficulties.

What is considered auspicious to donate on Saturday?

Donating black sesame seeds, black clothes, iron items, mustard oil, or black gram is considered beneficial. It is believed that such donations please Shani Dev and help reduce obstacles and hardships in life.
