DU acid attack case: Accused's wife alleges victim's father had obscene photos of her, files rape complaint

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): New revelations have emerged in the acid attack case on a second-year Delhi University student. Police have yet to arrest the accused, but investigations have revealed that a dispute had occurred between the student and the accused a few days prior to the incident. It is reported that the student had complained to the accused, Jitendra's wife, about her husband's molestation. This is what led to an argument between the two parties.
Meanwhile , the wife of accused Jitendra has also filed a rape complaint against the victim's father, Aqeel, making a serious allegation. The woman says that the victim's father had obscene photos of her, which he had also sent to her husband Jitendra. She said that she had gone to the Bhalswa police station with this complaint on Friday, but the acid attack took place that evening. The police have now registered an FIR based on her complaint.
The incident occurred near Laxmibai College in northwest Delhi. The victim stated that while she was on her way to college, the accused, Jitendra, arrived on a motorcycle with his friends, Ishaan and Armaan, threw acid on her and fled. The student explained that the attack occurred after the accused's wife threatened her a few days earlier.
The victim's family also stated that the accused, Jitendra, had been harassing the girl for a long time. The student had complained about the incident to his wife after an argument a month ago. The victim's brother also alleged that Jitendra and his associates repeatedly harassed his sister.
Deputy Commissioner of Police for North-West District, Bhishma Singh, stated that the main accused has been identified as Jitendra, a resident of Mukundpur. He was accompanied by Ishaan and Arman. All three accused fled the scene after the attack. An FIR has been registered under sections related to acid attacks. According to officials, the search for the accused is ongoing. Police are scanning CCTV footage from the area and gathering local intelligence.
