Elderly Parents Killed Over Money Dispute, Bodies Stuffed in Sacks and Dumped in River

Jaunpur (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident that has disgraced family relationships has come to light from Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh, where a man allegedly murdered his elderly parents over a money dispute and disposed of their bodies in a river. The incident took place in Ahmadpur village under the Zafrabad police station area.
According to police, the accused, an only son attacked his parents with a grinding stone during a heated argument related to financial issues. After killing them, he packed their bodies into sacks and dumped them into the Gomti River. The accused had reportedly entered into a love marriage, which had led to frequent disputes at home over money.
The crime occurred on December 8, but came to light five days later when the couple’s daughter, who lives in Varanasi, filed a missing persons report. Suspicion grew during the investigation, and on Monday night, police detained the accused, Ambesh Kumar, who later confessed to the crime.
City SP Ayush Srivastava said that Vandana Devi had filed a missing complaint on December 13 regarding her parents Babita Devi and Shyam Bahadur stating they had been missing since December 8. She also informed police that her brother Ambesh was not at home, claiming he had gone out to search for their parents.
To trace the missing persons, three police teams were formed. On Monday evening, Ambesh Kumar was detained near his house and questioned thoroughly, during which he revealed the horrific details of the murder.
According to the City SP, the accused admitted that around 8 pm on December 8, a family dispute over money escalated, following which he struck his parents on the head with a grinding stone, killing them on the spot. He then disposed of their bodies by stuffing them into sacks and throwing them into the Gomti River.
Police have registered a murder case following the confession and are conducting further interrogation. Efforts are underway to recover the bodies based on the accused’s disclosure.
