Encounter in Kulgam: Security forces cordon off area, 3–4 terrorists suspected hiding

Kulgam (The Uttam Hindu): An encounter has started between security forces and terrorists in Guddar area of Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the information, during the search operation, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the security forces, after which the firing intensified. It is suspected that 3 to 4 terrorists are hiding in the area.

According to sources, the terrorists surrounded in Guddar area may be associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba organization. During the search operation, they suddenly opened fire on the security forces, after which the soldiers also started retaliatory action.
Meanwhile, the Border Security Force (BSF) has detained a Pakistani citizen near the international border in RS Pura sector of Jammu. According to the information, BSF jawans had noticed suspicious movement near the border pillar late last evening. A search operation was immediately launched and during this a Pakistani citizen was caught.
The security forces have detained him on the spot and started questioning him. At present, his identity and the purpose of crossing the border are being investigated. BSF officials say that only after the initial interrogation, information about his intentions and background will be revealed. In view of the security on the border, patrolling and searching in the area has been intensified.
