Pratapgarh (The Uttam Hindu): Police have solved the murder case of former village head Mustaka Gulshan alias Munna in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh district. His body was stuffed in a sack and dumped into a canal. In this case, police have arrested his alleged lover Suman, who along with her associates plotted the murder.

The incident took place in Mishrpur village under Mandhata police station limits. Munna had gone missing on March 18. Later, police reached the spot after receiving information about a suspicious sack found in a canal near Sumerpur village. Upon opening it, the body of Mustaka Gulshan was recovered.

Investigation revealed that Munna had gone to meet Suman. During the meeting, the accused attacked him on the head with an iron rod, killing him on the spot. To destroy evidence, the body was packed in a sack and thrown into the canal.

Mustaka Gulshan had served as the village head of Mishrpur in 2016. His family had lodged a missing complaint on March 18. During the investigation, police traced Suman through call detail records and detained her for questioning, which led to the revelation of the murder conspiracy.

According to family members, Gulshan had two wives—Kismatul Nisha and Ambiya Bano—who lived together. He had a total of 18 children, nine from each wife.

Police said the accused woman had come to her maternal home on March 18 and called Munna to meet her. During this time, she, along with her brother and accomplices, carried out the murder. The main आरोपी has been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to trace other accused. Further legal action is underway.
