Faridabad police strike again: Over 50 kg explosives seized, 2 held in major terror module bust

Chandigarh/Faridabad (The Uttam Hindu) : Explosive material has once again been recovered in Faridabad, Haryana, adjacent to the national capital Delhi. The Crime Branch has also detained two suspects in connection with the case.

During the operation in Faridabad, the Crime Branch arrested both suspects from Sector 56. 50 to 60 kilograms of explosive material was recovered from these suspects. The operation is currently ongoing. Investigative agencies busted a terrorist module on Monday and recovered approximately 2,900 kilograms of explosive material from Faridabad. The agencies also seized weapons and ammunition. Seven suspected terrorists associated with this module have also been arrested, including two doctors.

The Jammu and Kashmir connection of the suspected terrorists later emerged. All of them are residents of different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Arif Nisar Dar alias Sahil, Yasir-ul-Ashraf, and Maqsood Ahmed Dar alias Shahid are residents of Nowgam, Srinagar. The other suspects were identified as Zameer Ahmed Ahangar alias Mutlasha, a resident of Wakura, Ganderbal; Dr. Muzammil Ahmed Ganai alias Musaib, a resident of Koil, Pulwama; and Dr. Adeel, a resident of Wanpora, Kulgam.

During the investigation, the suspected terrorists' links are also being linked to Al Falah University in Dhauj, Faridabad. Dr. Muzammil Ahmed Ganai, alias Musaib, used to teach at the university. Faridabad police stated that faculty members who worked with Muzammil at Al Falah University, students studying at the university, and the principal of the medical college have been questioned. Police have questioned more than 50 people.

Additionally, Haryana DGP OP Singh stated on Tuesday that a search is underway throughout the Al Falah University campus. Suspects are being questioned. He also stated that the investigation will continue. DGP OP Singh stated that the university is being investigated for terrorist networks. He added that the Haryana Police is continuously cooperating with the Delhi Police Special Cell and central agencies, and based on information provided by the Delhi Police, the Haryana Police is assisting in the raids.

He stated that the scope of the investigation is not limited to Faridabad. In addition to Faridabad, Haryana Police is also conducting search operations in other locations based on intelligence inputs. The DGP stated that the entire state is currently on high alert and the scope of the investigation has been expanded.
