Varanasi (The Uttam Hindu) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat Express from Varanasi station in his parliamentary constituency on Saturday. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present. Passengers chanted "Har Har Mahadev" as the PM flagged it off. BJP workers, along with the residents of Kashi, showered flowers to welcome him.

Prime Minister Modi flagged off four Vande Bharat trains from Varanasi station on Saturday. He will interact with schoolchildren traveling on the trains. Experts believe the new Vande Bharat Express, which runs from Varanasi to Khajuraho, has become special in many ways. While the number 8 is associated with this train, its operation also holds spiritual significance.

The PM flagged off four new Vande Bharat Express trains, which will run on the Varanasi-Khajuraho, Lucknow-Saharanpur, Firozpur-Delhi, and Ernakulam-Bengaluru routes. The journey time from Firozpur to Delhi on the Vande Bharat Express will be 6 hours and 40 minutes, compared to the previous fastest train, the Punjab Mail, which took 7 hours and 20 minutes.

The operation of the Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express will add a new dimension to religious and cultural tourism. This train will connect religious and cultural destinations such as Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Khajuraho. The new Vande Bharat Express will save approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes compared to the currently operating special trains. This will provide passengers with a fast, comfortable, and modern travel experience.
