Fighter jets escort PM Modi as Indonesia rolls out grand ceremonial welcome
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rare ceremonial welcome in Indonesia, with fighter jet escorts and the President personally greeting him at the airport.

Jakarta (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Indonesia on Monday for a three-day official visit, receiving an exceptional ceremonial welcome. As his aircraft entered Indonesian airspace, fighter jets of the Indonesian Air Force escorted it to Jakarta, while President Prabowo Subianto personally received the Prime Minister at the airport in a rare diplomatic gesture.
The visit is expected to strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Indonesia. The two leaders are scheduled to hold wide-ranging talks covering defence, trade, maritime cooperation and regional security. Reports suggest that discussions on the proposed BrahMos supersonic cruise missile deal are also likely to be a key focus during the meetings.
During his visit, PM Modi will also travel to Yogyakarta to visit the historic Prambanan Temple Complex, one of the largest Hindu temple complexes in Southeast Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Prime Minister said he looked forward to further deepening bilateral ties and interacting with the Indian community in Indonesia.
