Film Star Ranya Rao, Minister Parameshwara in Gold Smuggling Scandal! ED Raids Rock Karnataka

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a major development related to the gold smuggling and money laundering case involving Kannada film actress Ranya Rao, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids at a hospital and Siddhartha Medical College associated with Karnataka's Home Minister G. Parameshwara. The ED's investigation has revealed suspicious financial transactions between Ranya Rao and the medical college linked to the Home Minister. The ED is currently conducting a thorough examination of the hospital’s financial records. Considering the seriousness of the matter, several other links are also being probed.
Recently, in this high-profile gold smuggling case, the main accused Ranya Rao and co-accused Tarun Kondaru Raju were granted bail by the Special Economic Offences Court. Justice Vishwanath C. Gowdar stated in his order that both accused are prohibited from leaving the country and must not commit a similar offense again. If these conditions are violated, their bail may be immediately revoked.
However, despite receiving relief from the court, Ranya Rao has not yet been released. This is because she is also facing charges under the Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act (COFEPOSA). Until she is granted bail under this law, she will not be able to come out of jail. It is noteworthy that the *Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has not yet filed a chargesheet against her in court, making the case even more complicated.
It is being reported that Ranya Rao was associated with an international gold smuggling syndicate, which was also involved in money laundering through this network. The trail of this entire illegal operation has now reached institutions linked to Home Minister Parameshwara, creating a stir in political circles. The ED’s investigation is expected to intensify, and several big names may be exposed in the coming days.
