FIR filed against Goa nightclub owner and manager after accident; CM orders magisterial inquiry

Panaji (The Uttam Hindu): 25 people died due to a fire in a night club in Goa. After the accident, an FIR has been registered against the owner and manager of the club. The owner has been arrested. At the same time, a magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the accident. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant ordered a magisterial inquiry into the fire. Sawant said that an FIR has been registered against the owner and general manager of the night club and they will be arrested.
The fire broke out at Birch near Romeo Lane after midnight. This popular party venue opened last year in Arpora village, about 25 kilometers from Panaji. "I am closely reviewing the situation arising out of the tragic fire incident in Arpora, which claimed the lives of 25 people and injured six. I have ordered a magisterial inquiry to ascertain the cause of the incident and fix responsibility," CM Sawant said in a post on Instagram.
CM Sawant said that preliminary investigations revealed that the fire broke out on the first floor of the club, and that due to the crowd and the small doors, customers were unable to exit. Some of them ran to the ground floor and became trapped there. PM Modi has also announced compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured.
