New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The central government has given the green signal to many big schemes on Tuesday. The government has approved the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme on the lines of Production Linked Incentive. Under this, organized and permanent employment will be encouraged in the manufacturing sector. Under this scheme, the government will give a total incentive of Rs 1.07 lakh crore. To encourage employment, the government will give money to the youth on the first job.

Vaishnav told that ELI scheme will have two parts Part A and Part B. Under Part A, on making a new appointment, the government will give one month's salary (maximum Rs 15,000) of the employee as incentive in two parts. The first part will be given after six months of appointment, while the second part will be given after 12 months of appointment. Whereas under Part B, an incentive of Rs 3000 will be given every month for two years. Manufacturing companies will get this incentive for 4 years. Under Part B, proportional incentive (maximum Rs 3000) will be given per employee every month for two years and for manufacturing sector for 4 years. This amount will be paid every six months. This scheme will be for two years. It will be applicable only to those employees whose monthly salary is less than Rs 1 lakh.

The Union Cabinet has approved the overall 'Khelo India Policy'. The National Sports Policy was implemented for the first time in 1984. After this, a new sports policy was issued in 2001. Now the central government will implement the Khelo India Policy 2025 under which youth will be encouraged for sports. Ashwini Vaishnav said that our goal is to include the country among the top 5 countries in the world in terms of sports.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the Union Cabinet has approved the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme (cost Rs 1.07 lakh crore), Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme (cost Rs 1 lakh crore), National Sports Policy 2025 and four-laning of Paramakudi-Ramanathapuram National Highway (cost Rs 1,853 crore). Apart from this, the government has also announced the Research Development and Innovation (DRI) Scheme. Under this scheme, the government will provide incentives of Rs 1 lakh crore to promote research in 17 sectors including energy security, deep tech, AI, pharma, digital agriculture.
