Five killed, over 12 injured as sleeper bus collides with trailer on highway in Hanumangarh
Five people were killed and over 12 injured after a sleeper bus collided with a trailer on a highway in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, triggering a major rescue operation.

Hanumangarh (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident occurred in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, where a sleeper bus collided with a trailer truck, killing at least five people and injuring more than a dozen passengers. The incident caused panic at the scene, with cries for help heard all around.
According to information, the bus was traveling from Rawatsar in Sri Ganganagar to Jaipur. On the way, two trailer trucks loaded with mustard seeds were parked on the road. While attempting to overtake them, the bus driver collided head-on with another trailer approaching from the opposite direction.
The impact was so severe that the bus rammed into the rear portion of the trailer and was badly damaged.
As soon as the information was received, police and administrative teams reached the spot and began rescue operations with the help of local residents. The injured were rushed to Rawatsar Hospital by ambulance. After initial treatment, three to four critically injured passengers were referred to Hanumangarh District Hospital. Currently, seven injured persons are undergoing treatment at Rawatsar Hospital.
Local residents played a crucial role in the rescue efforts. They helped pull out passengers trapped inside the bus and risked their lives to save the injured.
Rawatsar SDM Sanjay Agrawal confirmed the incident, stating that five people had died before reaching the hospital. He added that some of the injured remain in critical condition, and doctors are making all efforts to save them. Administrative officials also visited the hospital to review treatment arrangements.
