Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria welcomes new Udaipur–Chandigarh Superfast Train at Chandigarh Railway Station

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, today at 8:50 a.m., welcomed the newly launched Superfast Train from Udaipur to Chandigarh at Chandigarh Railway Station.
This significant facility is the outcome of the personal efforts of Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria and his consistent pursuance aimed at initiating pro-people initiatives with Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw.
It is solely due to his efforts that this train has become a reality, which is a major gift for the people of Udaipur (Rajasthan). The train will not only establish direct rail connectivity between Udaipur and Chandigarh but will also boost tourism and travel between the two cities.
The bi-weekly Superfast Express Train was flagged off on September 25 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through video conferencing from Banswara.
Train Schedule:
Udaipur City to Chandigarh (20989):
Departs on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4:05 p.m. and arrives at Chandigarh the next morning at 9:50 a.m.
Chandigarh to Udaipur City (20990):
Departs on Thursdays and Sundays at 11:20 a.m. and arrives at Udaipur the next morning at 5:25 a.m.
The train will comprise a total of 22 coaches, including 2 Second AC, 6 Third AC, 2 Third AC Economy, 6 Sleeper Class, 4 General Class coaches, and one each Power Car and Guard Coach.
On this occasion, Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria also warmly welcomed the passengers and railway staff on board the train and extended his best wishes to them.
Local public representatives and citizens were also present in large numbers at Chandigarh
