Greater Hyderabad to get Babri Masjid memorial: Tehreek Muslim Shabban announces plans

Hyderabad/Kolkata (The Uttam Hindu): The political turmoil surrounding the foundation stone laying of the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, West Bengal, has barely subsided when another major news has emerged from Greater Hyderabad. On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, an organization called Tehreek Muslim Shabban has announced the construction of a Babri Masjid Memorial in Hyderabad. The organization's president, Mushtaq Malik, announced that the date for the commencement of construction of the memorial will be announced soon. Targeting the opponents, he said that no one needs to be bothered by the name of Babar, as this protest is merely a political tactic.
Mushtaq Malik cited history and religious texts to justify his claim. He claimed that the Ramcharitmanas, written by Goswami Tulsidas, was written approximately 60 years after the construction of the Babri Masjid, but it makes no mention of the existence of a Ram temple or its demolition. Citing the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar, Malik said that even during that period, havan (fire sacrifice) and puja (worship) were performed, and Raja Man Singh was Akbar's army chief. He also stated that Tulsidas and Akbar had a dialogue. Malik lamented that by unnecessarily escalating this issue, the centuries-old brotherhood between different religions in the country has been destroyed.
It is noteworthy that recently, TMC MLA Humayun Kabir laid the foundation stone for an exact replica of the Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Kabir has set a budget of approximately ₹300 crore for this project. However, following this controversial move, the TMC suspended him from the party. Humayun Kabir argues that the Supreme Court acknowledged that Hindus had demolished the mosque, but permission was granted for the construction of a temple based on religious beliefs. He said that the Constitution also gives him the right to build a mosque, and that if temples and churches can be built in the country, why not a mosque?
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reacted sharply to this incident. The BJP has strongly opposed this move by Humayun Kabir and the Hyderabad organization. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh called it "propaganda" by the ruling party in West Bengal to polarize religion. He said that Babur came to attack India's culture and even used abusive language against Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Building in the name of such an invader is against the country's culture.
