High alert in Ayodhya: Unclaimed bag sparks panic, bomb squad called in

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) - Amidst reports of the Delhi blast, a sensation spread in Ayodhya on Wednesday morning when an unclaimed black bag was found near the roadways bus stand near the Circuit House. In view of the high alert, Kotwali Nagar police and administrative officials immediately reached the spot and temporarily sealed the entire area as a precaution. According to eyewitnesses, the bag remained in the same place for about two hours, after which passengers and local shopkeepers informed the police control room.
The bomb disposal team examined the bag with state-of-the-art equipment. People breathed a sigh of relief when the preliminary investigation confirmed that no explosive material was found. Following safety standards, the team safely opened the bag on the spot. Inside, they found approximately five thousand rupees in cash, clothes, shoes, a ladies' purse, and a pair of glasses. Based on the recovered items, it is suspected that the bag may have belonged to a female passenger.
Police are scanning nearby CCTV footage and appealing to anyone with information regarding the unclaimed bag to come forward. Officials said passengers were advised to use alternative routes until the investigation is complete, and the area has now reopened. Authorities urged citizens not to touch any suspicious objects, immediately report them to 112/local police, and avoid rumors.
