High-speed rail boost as seven corridors planned, sports items to be affordable

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her 9th budget in the Lok Sabha as Finance Minister. During this, the Finance Minister has given the gift of high speed train corridor to the country in the budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that seven high speed trains will run between cities. These include Pune-Mumbai, Pune-Hyderabad, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Chennai, Chennai-Bengaluru, Delhi-Varanasi and Varanasi-Siliguri. Apart from this, ship repair facilities will also be established in Banaras and Patna.

Sports equipment will become cheaper: Finance Minister

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that sports equipment will become cheaper. A major scheme was announced for villages, including the Mahatma Gandhi Self-Employment Scheme, and ₹10,000 crore for SMEs. This will help athletes and increase children's interest in sports.
