Historic First at NDA: 17 Women Cadets Pass Out, Governor Hails 'Nari Shakti

Pune (The Uttam Hindu): After the success of Operation Sindoor, 17 women cadets created history in the 148th passing out parade held at the NDA campus in Khadakvasla, Pune on Friday. In fact, this is the first time in the history of NDA that women cadets have graduated. Here, 17 women cadets completed their graduation along with more than 300 male cadets. Now these women cadets will serve the country by joining the country's armed forces.
Speaking during the parade, Governor of Mizoram, General Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) said that today is a particularly important day in the history of the Academy. Today, the first batch of women cadets has passed out from NDA. This is a historic milestone in our collective journey towards the greatest inclusiveness and empowerment. These young women are a symbol of 'Nari Shakti', symbolizing not just women's development but women-led development. He said that this is not the end of training for girls, but the beginning of new possibilities.
He praised the performance of all the cadets and said that it is an honour for me to be here. What strikes you the most about NDA is that nothing has changed, but everything has changed. Its core values have remained strong even as it has evolved with time. Today, 17 women cadets passed out, but you could not recognise them. That is the beauty of how seamlessly NDA has worked to integrate them. This is the beginning of a change that is in sync with the times we are moving in.
Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh was also present on the occasion. A formal photo session was held, which showcased the first women cadets to pass out from NDA, standing as a symbol of a more inclusive future in national defence. These women passing out from the parade will emerge as a hope for future women who have the passion to do something for the country.
