Ghaziabad (The Uttam Hindu): Ghaziabad police today arrested notorious history-sheeter Qadir of Nahal village in an encounter. Qadir is the same criminal whose arrest was made when the Noida police team was attacked on Sunday, in which constable Saurabh Deshwal was martyred.

According to the police, on Sunday night, Noida police raided Ghaziabad's Nahal village on the basis of a tip-off. The police had arrested Qadir from his house, but then his associates started pelting stones and firing at the police team and freed him. During the firing, Noida Police constable Saurabh Deshwal was shot, who later died during treatment in the hospital. After this incident, the police registered a case against Qadir and about a dozen of his associates.

23-year-old Qadir Khurshid, a resident of Nahal village in Ghaziabad's Mussoorie police station area, is a vicious criminal. At such a young age, he has more than 24 cases registered against him in Ghaziabad, Noida and many nearby districts. These include serious crimes like Gangster Act, robbery, assault, attempt to murder and cow smuggling. Ghaziabad Police said that several cases are also registered against Qadir in Noida's Phase 3 police station.

Based on the information provided by Noida police, Ghaziabad police immediately swung into action and started surrounding history-sheeter Qadir. According to the police, when surrounded, Qadir once again opened fire on the police, but this time the police was fully prepared. In retaliation, the police shot Qadir in the leg, injuring him and arrested him. DCP Rural said that the injured criminal has been admitted to the hospital for now.
