Hyderabad (The Uttam Hindu) : A Gulf Air flight from Bahrain to Hyderabad made an emergency landing in Mumbai after receiving a bomb threat. Flight GF274 was carrying 154 passengers. Hyderabad Airport received an email alerting it at around 3 a.m. Sunday that a bomb had been planted on the plane. Security agencies were immediately activated upon receiving the information.

The flight from Bahrain took off at 10:20 pm on Saturday and was scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad at 4:55 am on Sunday, but was diverted to Mumbai due to security concerns. After completing security checks, the flight was cleared for takeoff and arrived in Hyderabad at 11:31 am. Gulf Air issued a statement saying, "Flight GF274 from Bahrain to Hyderabad landed in Mumbai following security protocols. The aircraft landed safely and continued its journey after completing all security procedures." Hyderabad Airport has received similar threats before. In June, a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Hyderabad was forced to return to Germany after receiving a bomb threat. That same month, Begumpet Airport also received a hoax bomb threat, which, after investigation, was found to be fake. Begumpet Airport is currently used only for chartered and military flights.
