India Extends Airspace Ban for Pakistan Till July 24, Restriction Increased by One More Month

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): India has delivered another blow to Pakistan by extending its airspace ban for Pakistani airline-operated flights by one more month — until July 24, 2025. This airspace restriction, which originally came into effect on April 30, applies to all aircraft operated, owned, or leased by Pakistani airlines or operators — including military aircraft.
The ban was among several stringent measures taken by the Indian government following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians. Originally, India had planned to lift the airspace ban on May 24, but it was first extended to June 24, and now further to July 24, according to a fresh NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued on Monday.
As per the updated NOTAM, Indian airspace remains closed to:
Aircraft registered in Pakistan
Aircraft operated by Pakistani airlines or operators
Aircraft owned or leased by Pakistani companies
Pakistani military aircraft
In response, a provoked Pakistan has also extended its airspace ban for Indian aircraft until July 24. This tit-for-tat escalation marks the latest development in the strained diplomatic and military relations between the two nations.
