India will not tolerate the insult to Sanatan Dharma: Anurag Singh Thakur

New Delhi(The Uttam Hindu): Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituency, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, speaking during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha today, expressed serious concern over the growing atmosphere of discrimination against Hindus and Sanatan Dharma by the DMK government in Tamil Nadu.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur strongly raised the shameful incident in Madurai, where Hindu devotees were brutally lathi-charged by the Tamil Nadu police simply because they were demanding to light the traditional Karthigai Deepam on the sacred Thirupparankundram hill, one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, "Under the DMK rule, the state of Tamil Nadu has unfortunately become a symbol of the anti-Sanatan Dharma movement. Ministers of the Tamil Nadu government openly make false statements against Sanatan Dharma. When the Honorable Prime Minister performed the Pran Pratishtha of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, this same DMK government strongly opposed it. Despite the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court's clear instructions to allow the lighting of Karthigai Deepam on the Thirupparankundram Hill, the state government deliberately ignored the court's order. The police lathi-charged peaceful Hindu devotees who had gathered to maintain the centuries-old tradition. This is not just an attack on religious sentiments, but also a blatant contempt of court and a serious violation of the fundamental right to freedom of religion guaranteed under Article 25 of the Constitution. Shri Anurag Singh Thakur questioned why Hindus are being so openly discriminated against in their own country? Is practicing one's religion now a crime in Tamil Nadu?"
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur demanded that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and the DMK government immediately apologize to millions of Hindu devotees across the country. He also appealed to the Central Government to take cognizance of the systematic atrocities being committed against Hindu traditions in Tamil Nadu and ensure the protection of the religious rights of Hindus in every corner of India.
Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, "The BJP stands firmly with every Hindu devotee whose sentiments have been hurt by the anti-Sanatan actions of the DMK government. This kind of appeasement politics and attacks on Hindu faith will not be tolerated."
