Train Late or AC Not Working? Get Your Entire Ticket Amount Refunded

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Railways has now started a new facility for passengers. According to this, if your train is late while travelling in a train or the AC in which you are sitting is not working or the coach is not cooling down, then you will get your entire ticket money back.
Actually, many times people complain about the AC not working in the coach or the train being late while travelling. Keeping this in mind, the railways have started this facility. The railways have also laid down conditions for this. If these conditions are met, then all the money for the ticket will be refunded to you.
Conditions for getting a refund
1. If the train is delayed by more than 3 hours.
2. The AC coach does not get cool for more than 2 hours.
3. You will have to lodge a complaint on the IRCTC website.
4. It is necessary to apply for a refund within 24 hours.
5. This refund policy is applicable only for confirmed tickets.
6. If your ticket was in waiting list and got cancelled, then this rule will not apply.
7. If the reason for the train being late is a natural disaster (such as flood), then also you will not get a refund.
8. To complain about the AC not working, you will have to take a written complaint from the TTE or staff of the train, so that proof can be obtained.
Know the complete process of refund
1. First you have to go to IRCTC website (www.irctc.co.in).
2. Login with your username and password.
3. Find the refund or complaint option on the homepage and click on it.
4. Enter your ticket's PNR number, date of travel, and problem (train late or AC faulty).
5. After filling all the information, press the submit button.
6. Your money will be returned to your bank account in 7 to 10 days.
