New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) – IndiGo, the country's largest airline, has made an important announcement following the massive disruption and inconvenience caused to thousands of passengers over the past few days. The airline clarified that all flights cancelled between December 3rd and 15th will receive a full refund, and the process has been initiated.

Along with this, the company also gave the relief that now no additional charges will be taken from the passengers for rescheduling or cancelling the tickets.

IndiGo wrote on social media platform X: "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Our teams are working at full capacity to restore normal operations."

Refund from 48 hours in advance - Indication of the seriousness of the crisis

IndiGo has made another important change in its new update by reducing the effective date of refund from 5th December to 3rd December. That is, now refunds are being given from 3rd December instead of 5th December. According to experts, this step shows how deep was the operational crisis on the airline. On Saturday, the company had announced that 'No Question Asked Policy' will be applicable on the tickets from 5th to 15th December and full refund will be given to the passengers.

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Ministry stated that IndiGo has so far issued refunds for 9.5 lakh tickets, worth ₹827 crore. Most of these, approximately 6 lakh tickets (₹569 crore), were for flights between December 1 and 7, when the crisis was at its peak. The ministry directed the airline to immediately clear all pending refunds and not charge rescheduling fees for affected passengers. Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that strict action could be taken against IndiGo to set an example.
