New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a major intelligence breakthrough, Rajasthan Police’s Intelligence Wing has arrested a man accused of spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The suspect, identified as Mangat Singh, a resident of Govindgarh in Alwar district, has been booked under the Official Secrets Act, 1923 for leaking classified military information.

According to intelligence sources, Mangat Singh had been under surveillance since Operation Sindoor, a counter-espionage mission launched months ago. Alwar, being a region of strategic military importance, became the focal point of monitoring efforts, where Singh’s suspicious activities were first detected.

Honey-Trapped by a Pakistani Handler

Investigations revealed that Singh was honey-trapped by a Pakistani woman named Isha Sharma, who contacted him through social media. Lured by money and gifts, he began sharing confidential defense details with his handlers across the border. Reports suggest that Singh had been in contact with Pakistani agents for nearly two years, regularly providing sensitive inputs related to India’s defense establishments.

Shared Sensitive Data via Social Media

Officials confirmed that Singh used social media platforms to transmit classified information about Alwar cantonment areas and other strategic defense sites. Forensic examination of his mobile phone and digital devices has uncovered suspicious chats, images, and confidential documents, believed to have been sent to ISI contacts.

Case Registered on October 10

After extensive interrogation by multiple intelligence agencies at the Central Interrogation Center in Jaipur and examination of digital evidence, a case was officially registered on October 10, 2025, at the Special Police Station in Jaipur. Following this, CID Intelligence Rajasthan took Singh into custody.

During preliminary questioning, Mangat Singh confessed to sharing sensitive military information with a Pakistani agent in exchange for money. Officials confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace other possible links and collaborators involved in this espionage network.
