Jaipur Design Week 2026 concludes at JKLU with focus on innovation and emerging talent

Jaipur (The Uttam Hindu): Jaipur Design Week 2026 concluded successfully at JK Lakshmipat University bringing together students experts and creative professionals under the theme “Make It Max”. Held from April 4 to April 11 the event turned the campus into a dynamic space for discussions experimentation and collaboration around contemporary design practices.
The event began with a keynote and workshop by Suresh Eriyat followed by engaging sessions with artist Abhijit Paul and Microsoft UX designer Bindiya Mutum. Designer Chandrashekhar Bheda added a creative twist with a design based stand up act. Vice Chancellor Vijayshekhar Chelloboina highlighted that design education goes beyond classrooms and plays a key role in shaping responsible creators.
The ThoughtSpot series featured experts including Tanu Sinha along with Paul Sandip Suhasini Paul and Gajesh Mitkari where discussions revolved around design culture and storytelling. The book Jawaja by Ashok Chatterjee was also launched during the event sparking meaningful conversations.
Open studio sessions saw participation from renowned personalities like Padma Shri awardee Dadi Pudumjee along with experts Margie Sastry Radhika Gupta Kavya Agarwal and Jishnu Roy. Workshops led by Ayush Kasliwal Sudebi Thakurat and Sumit Baruah provided hands on learning across different design domains. Mubasirah Khalid Khatri was honoured as Emerging Designer of the Year becoming the first female artisan of Ajrakh craft to achieve this recognition and also being featured in Forbes India 30 Under 30 list.
Director of the Institute of Design A Balasubramaniam said the event showcased a blend of art technology and storytelling offering new perspectives on design. The week long program successfully created a collaborative environment connecting students educators and industry experts and left behind a strong foundation for future innovation and creative growth.
