Meet Janvi Jindal: 17-Year-Old Skating Prodigy from Chandigarh with 5 Guinness World Records

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Janvi Jindal, a 17-year-old from Chandigarh, has made history by becoming the youngest Indian girl to hold five Guinness World Records in freestyle skating. What makes her achievement remarkable is that she didn't train under a professional coach. Instead, her father, Munish Jindal, guided her using online skating videos, and she practiced on public pathways and Sector 22 showrooms after he returned home from work.
Guinness World Records
Janvi's records include:
1. Most 360-degree rotations on inline skates in 30 seconds: 27 spins
2. Fastest slalom (20 cones) on two wheels: 8.85 seconds
3. Most one-wheeled 360-degree spins in 30 seconds: 42 spins
4. Most one-wheeled 360-degree spins in one minute: 72 spins
5. Most consecutive one-wheeled 360-degree spins: 22 spins
Journey to Success
Janvi's journey began when she was eight years old, and her parents got her a pair of roller skates. Her father taught her the basics of roller freestyle skating and inline skating after learning from YouTube and other media. Despite initial setbacks, Janvi persevered and started dominating national championships, winning multiple medals.
Inspiring Others
Janvi's achievement is not just about her own success but also about inspiring others. She aims to motivate more children, especially girls, to take up skating and sports. Her father, Munish Jindal, credits her discipline and sincerity for her success, saying, "Janvi's discipline for skating and sincerity towards the game took her to this position. She proves you can learn anything from the internet positively".
Future Plans
Janvi is currently applying for the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement (Bal Puraskar) and hopes to represent India at the international level, possibly in the Asian Games. Her story is a testament to passion, discipline and innovation, making her a role model for India's youth.
