Karnataka Man Falls Into Cauvery While Taking Photo, Rescue Efforts On

Karnataka (The Uttam Hindu) : A tragic incident occurred on Sunday evening in Karnataka's Mandya district when a 36-year-old man was swept away in the Cauvery River while attempting to take a photograph. The victim, identified as Mahesh from Mysuru, was an auto-rickshaw driver. He had visited the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) area near Sarva Dharma Ashram in Srirangapatna for a picnic with friends. Eyewitnesses reported that Mahesh slipped and fell into the river while posing for a photo. Due to the high water level and strong current, he was quickly swept away. Rescue operations have been launched by fire and emergency services teams, and a case has been registered under the jurisdiction of the KRS Police Station.
