Kulgam Encounter: One Terrorist Killed, Operation Still Underway in J&K

Srinagar (The Uttam Hindu): An encounter between security forces and terrorists is underway in the Akhal area of Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir. During the late-night operation, one terrorist was neutralized by the forces.
The ongoing joint counter-terrorism operation involves the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and the Special Operations Group (SOG). According to a social media post by the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, intermittent and intense exchange of fire continued throughout the night. Alert troops responded with precision and tightened the cordon to block any escape routes for the terrorists.
Earlier Encounter in Poonch: On July 30, the Army’s White Knight Corps reported an encounter near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector. The operation began after troops detected suspicious movement of two individuals near the border fence. When challenged, the suspects opened fire, prompting immediate retaliation from the Army. In the ensuing gunfight, one terrorist was killed.
The security forces remain on high alert, with operations continuing to eliminate any remaining threats in the region.
