New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi is once again in the news. Lalit Modi has made controversial remarks against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka and has demanded the BCCI ban the team.

Lalit Modi wrote on X, "I told you that Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka is a complete loser and the biggest joker. I am truly ashamed of his behavior. I created the IPL for both the fans and the players, not for this to happen every time, every year."

He wrote, "If I were still the Chairman and Commissioner, I would ban him immediately and permanently strip him of his ownership of the team. He's a complete arrogant clown. There's a clause in the franchise contract addressing this very issue. The BCCI should enforce it—honesty should be paramount. Flattering those in power is not the way to get away with it. Fans and players alike will remember this."

In fact, in the match between L&T and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Ekana Stadium on April 1st, L&T suffered a defeat. After the match, Sanjiv Goenka was seen talking to Pant. Fans and critics are linking this incident to the incident between Goenka and KL Rahul in IPL 2024. Memes related to Goenka are going viral on social media.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan also commented on the video, writing, "There's only one game in the tournament. There's no need for this."

However, it is not clear what transpired between Rishabh Pant and Sanjiv Goenka.

LSG posted a video clarifying that everything was fine between Sanjiv Goenka and Rishabh Pant. The caption for the video read, "Not everything you're seeing is real. Here are the unfiltered post-match vibes, when the cameras aren't cutting."

After the match, Sanjiv Goenka posted on Instagram, "It's a long season, and moments like these are part of making it meaningful. I have full faith in our captain and team that they will come back strong. Our fans, thank you for your support at Ekana. We will come back even stronger. Lucknow's story this season is not yet written."
