New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) : On the seventh day of Parliament's Budget Session, the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address in the Lok Sabha was passed by voice vote amid uproar. This event is considered extraordinary because it marks the first time in nearly 22 years that the Prime Minister has not delivered a speech on the Motion of Thanks in the House.

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in the House and ready to speak, but due to security reasons, the Speaker had to adjourn the proceedings. Consequently, the Prime Minister's speech was not delivered. Meanwhile, suspended Congress MP Manickam Tagore stated that the opposition would not allow PM Narendra Modi to speak in the House until Rahul Gandhi was allowed to speak.

Serious security concerns were raised

Sources in the Lok Sabha Secretariat claim that the Congress had expressed apprehensions about surrounding the Prime Minister inside the House and physically attacking him. It was reported that as a precaution, security arrangements were tightened and women MPs were made to sit in the front row to avoid any untoward situation. According to sources, this was an extraordinary situation in the history of the Lok Sabha when the Prime Minister did not speak during the motion of thanks on the President's address, even though he was present in the House.

According to sources within the Lok Sabha Secretariat, all preparations for the Prime Minister's speech had been completed in advance. However, there were persistent indications of a possible uproar from the opposition. Senior Congress leaders were reportedly consulted several times on the matter, but the situation remained unchanged. Officials say that, in keeping with the dignity and security of the House, it was decided that the Prime Minister should not speak on the Motion of Thanks.

BJP launches scathing attack on Congress:

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari leveled serious allegations against the Congress, saying that a strategy was hatched with the intention of physically attacking the Prime Minister. He claimed that the plan was to surround the Prime Minister's chair by deploying female MPs. Manoj Tiwari said that some Congress MPs entered the House with the intention of attacking, but the attack was stopped in time.
